 Born in
Nairobi, Kenya & educated there and in the United
Kingdom, Sarah travelled extensively before settling in
Australia in 1975.
Sarah paints in contemporary and traditional styles that
are full of colour and energy. From her delicate silks,
pen and ink sketches, pastels and watercolour works, to
large multi-media assemblages, the rhythm and flow of
energy are evident with each brushstroke.
"My interest in art stems from a fascination with
colours and the feeling of people and land around me. My endeavour is to
capture the innate essence and spirit of life, not simply to create a
mirror image. I predominately work on paper - frequently making my
own, to achieve the exact feel I want, and canvas. I use whatever
medium the subject dictates, mixed-media being my
favourite. I paint about social issues which
are important to me, enabling me to speak out through my
art."
For that unique gift, Sarah creates pet portraits, on commission.
